Pacos Sacramento... Coming Soon

Pacos Bikeshop, established in 1979 in Truckee, California is expanding into Sacramento, California. Owner Russell Hamby is excited to bring the Pacos legacy to Midtown where he grew up. Formerly a Sacramento resident, Russell grew up riding bikes and skateboarding through the streets of Sacramento. His path lead him through an early career as a bike mechanic and professional road racer at City Bike Works in midtown Sacramento.

“The community of Sacramento supported my early dreams to become a professional cyclist and I am forever grateful for the support that I received on my journey to racing abroad in Europe and for the Sierra Nevada/Kodak racing team in the early 2000’s. I look forward to returning to my hometown to bring my experience and positive energy back to the place that holds my childhood heart.” - Russell Hamby.

Russell and wife, Keri Hamby, hope to encapsulate and deliver the positive work life balance they found in Truckee to the new location. Pacos focuses on cultivating people, culture, service, and positive community action. The Hamby family are advocates of the outdoors, and value sport, human connection and peak experiences. The Hamby’s hope to inspire a new generation of outdoor adventurers by making cycling and skiing more accessible.

Pacos supports many Tahoe/Truckee non-profits including the Truckee Dirt Union, Truckee Donner Land Trust, Truckee Trails Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club, as well as the Alpen Glow Speaker Series at Palisades Tahoe and aims to support Sacramento based advocacy groups as well.

Russell see’s this opportunity as a homecoming, aiming to return to his first playground with a renewed sense of what it means to be a positive steward to the community that raised him up. You can catch him at the new location which aims to open February, 2022.

Hope to see you there soon!
