Northstar Mountain Bike Team 2018

Helping to support the Tahoe community is a focus at Pacos. This year we continue to be a sponsor of the grassroots Northstar Mountain Bike Team. The support for this team is a local collaboration between Northstar California, Specialized, Pacos and Mt. Lincoln Construction. The team is made up of developing athletes, men and women of all ages, who love mountain biking and are great ambassadors. The 16 athletes on the team roster are riding Specialized bikes, actively racing and striving to upgrade their classifications in the disciplines of enduro, cross country and downhill racing.
Ryan Icanberry is enthusiastic about being part of the community as team manager of the Northstar Mountain Bike Team. He has been on the team since its early days and in 2014 he stepped into a new role as manager. Ryan continues to be a competitive racer all while keeping the whole team on a forward track.
His passion for racing began when he first watched the Downieville Classic event and witnessed a single speed athlete roll into the finish line absolutely elated. Ryan entered cycling with an inherent drive to excel and was quickly swept up in the race community within road and mountain bike disciplines. Ryan is no stranger to competitive sports and likes individual oriented sports that have a peripheral team support element. "It’s great to be part of a team and be able to push your own limits" says Ryan.
The Northstar Mountain Bike team is fired up for this season. There are a couple of home based races to look forward to. The first is the Tahoe Trail 100 on Saturday, July 14 at Northstar. Racers can choose between a 50K course or a 100K course. If you enter the longer course event you have the chance to qualify for the legendary Leadville Trail 100 MTB in Colorado. The second local event of note is the 2018 Northstar Enduro on August 25 and 26 which includes 2 days of racing and 6 stages.
